I am excited to be part of the PGA TOUR LIVE team upcoming at this week’s PLAYERS Championship, next week’s Valspar Championship and then the first week of April for the Valero Texas Open.
If you are interested in watching, you can do so for free for the first 90 minutes of the broadcast every day on twitter. Go to www.twitter.com/PGATOURLIVE.
The best part is you can see professional golfers go through adversity just like everyone else who plays the game. You will see many precise shots, but you will be surprised how many off line shots or putts a pro hits even in a round in the 60s. Brandt Snedeker’s 59 was covered by the LIVE team last year and he missed some fairways, greens and even some putts I bet he thought he should have made. This is a great way for up and coming junior golfers see how golf is meant to be played. Then once you are hooked, it is just $59.99/year.
One especially unique day to tune in would be Wednesday, March 13th for the practice round at the PLAYERS Championship. We will have a two hour show from noon-2pm Eastern time, following players on the course during their practice rounds. What a unique opportunity to see the best golfers in the world prepare for an event, hitting some extra shots out there, maybe a side bet for dinner between some players and seeing them looser than in tournament competition.
Finally let me give you an update on my golf game. I am training my body for some future golf, but not sure when that will be as my main focus is on the broadcasting. Maybe I’ll get into an event this summer but rest assured I’ll be out playing with my family and friends in Elmhurst. It has been a consistently cold winter in Chicago so most shots I have hit have gone 10 feet in front of me into a screen. I look forward to the feeling of a well struck iron shot as the club travels through the perfect amount of turf.
I wish you all the best in your golfing endeavors and please tune in to PGA TOUR LIVE.
